a brief orientation, board an exciting safari ride and
travel down down a rainforest trail, on your way to
Roaring River - whose headwaters are the acclaimed 1,000ft
Falls.
Ahh..lie back on your tube and let the gentle current
take you down the river. Imagine being encompassed by
gigantic trees and vibrant foliage - including numerous
orchid species that thrive on the water's edge.
Keep
a look out for iguanas, exotic birds and other wildlife
that love to bask in the towering fig trees above. Stop
for a refreshing dip in one of the river's crystal clear
swimming holes, and emerge in the midst of an ancient
Mayan tomb site! The ruins of this archaeological site,
Huebelna, are perched on a hill overlooking
the picturesque river.

Enter
a world that has remained untouched for centuries. Following
a brief orientation, your guide will lead you on an
amazing jungle trek under one of the most lush, primary
rainforest canopies in Belize. Marvel at the towering
hardwood trees and vibrant plant life, including an
array of orchid species. Be sure to observe your surroundings
closely this area is teaming with wildlife! You may
see toucans, parrots, armadillos, gibnut, tapirs, and
many other local species. Hike along creeks and caves
to reach a settlement of Mayan Tombs, which date back
to 200 B.C.
Lean
how the ancient Maya survived in this vast wilderness
and used exotic rainforest plants for medicinal purposes.
Stop at Roaring River’s Wildlife Sanctuary and
get an up close and personal look at some of our native
animals.

Gaze
in wonderment at the colorful plumage, and listen to
the exotic calls. Belize is a bird-watcher's paradise!
The Roaring River area is fortunate to be surrounded
by citrus groves that attract over 350 recorded species
of birds.
The
avian population is so abundant that the Belize Audubon
Society comes to Roaring River to conduct their annual
bird count. Watch your bird chart closely, and see how
many species you can discover. **Have your binoculars
ready!**

Enjoy a day at one of Roaring River’s blue holes.
Belize, also known as "The Jewel" is renowned
for its crystal clear rivers that wind through the rainforest.
On the river bank you may see colorful iguanas basking
in the sunshine, and a myriad of bird species and other
wildlife.

equestrian adventure begins at our mahogany base camp.
There your guide will give a brief orientation and horses
will be chosen according to your experience.
Now
its time to mount your trusty steed and get ready for
a breath-taking rainforest experience. In the heart
of the jungle lies a sacred place, where the Maya once
raised families and grew maize and other essential crops.
Now, over 500 years later the once farmlands have gave
way to an enormous towering rainforest. Let your guide
lead you down a jungle trail and enlighten you on medicinal
plants, local wildlife, and the mayan world. Meander
through the citrus orchard and pick an orange or two
on your way down to the mighty Roaring River. There
you will bid farewell to your mount and jump in for
a refreshing swim in one of our many crystal clear swimming
holes.
